Children's Museum

We went to the Children's Museum which was the neatest place. Everything was hands on. They had life size checkers games, Chess, and Connect Four. Each area had a different theme and you could dress up and play. They had a Bank, Post office, kitchen , Air Plane, Dump Truck, and a lot more. The farm was the only picture I got because the camera was low on batteries. You can tell my girls are City Kids, and are not sure where a cow's milk comes from!

The Alamo

Since we had never been to the Alamo we thought we should see it while we were here this time. The girls were not impressed, and kept asking to go see the RiverWalk.

The girls

The girls outside the Cracker Barrel. Mackenzie managed to knock the pumpkins over. The other picture is outside the Salt Lick.

This is inside the Salt Lick. Mackenzie was mad because they didn't have lemonade.

Our Trip to San Antonio and Austin

We decided to get a way for a weekend since it was a Holiday weekend and Maddy was off from school, so we decided to go to Austin and San Antonio. It was a trip we will never forget! After packing for a 2 day trip, Ron said I had packed way too much and needed to downsize, thankfully I listened and managed to cram everything into one suitcase for all of us. We started out and about 2 hours into the trip the air conditioner started to make a loud noise and then their was no air. Now just because its October you would think it would be a little cooler, but no its still 90+ degrees and we need that air. Also when you are traveling out of the Valley their are places you don't want to brake down and we were in one of those places. The car began making even more noise and was acting up so Ron said start praying! We made it to a "town" that had a Dairy Queen and a gas station, and not much else. We got a hold of a dealership that was just about to close who were nice enough to stay open and look at the car. It was not drivable and since we didn't have any other options they gave us the only rental they had- A Dodge Neon! We were able to get three car seats into that little thing plus our luggage, the only thing we couldn't take was the Sit and Stand Stroller. We ended up having a great time, and were able to do some shopping at the San Marcos Outlets. We also ate at some of our favorite places that we don't have hear in the Valley. We ate at Chipotle, Panda Express, Cracker Barrel, and the Salt Lick. The Salt Lick was featured on Rachel Rays T.V. show and was very unique, and the best Barbeque ever. Here are a few photos of our trip- oh yeah the van was still not fixed on Monday and so we had to rent another car to get us home, this time a Chevy Malibu, not much more room than the Neon. The girls had fun on what they call our Adventure.
