Micah learns to feed himself

Micah is very interested in feeding himself, but since I hate the mess I usually don't let him. Yesterday he did a pretty good job of eating his yogurt all by himself.

The finally product -- yum, yum!

The Circus

On Monday a friend and I took our four girls, who are all the same age, and Micah to see the Circus. It was definitely no Ringling Brother's Circus! It was set at a racetrack in a dirt field and everything was behind wire fencing so the pictures did not turn out. Not that I could take many pictures as everyone was so indecently dressed. Most of them had little costumes that left little to the imagination- way to many g-stings for a circus! Anyway the kids had fun, and Micah liked the elephants alot.

Bad Hair Cut

I took Micah to get a hair cut on Saturday at the cheap place. I told the girl to trim it with scissors. She said that would take to long and she took the clippers with a #3 and buzzed his hair. I was so mad! I hate buzzed hair. Madeline said "Mom, did you pay for that hair cut!" So he is the current poster child for St. Jude's-- I know that's not funny, but I really hate his hair and hope it grows fast, since he won't keep a hat on.

Piano

The girls and I have been wanting a piano for a long time. Ronnie finally agreed it would be a good thing to get. We were able to get a brand new Yamaha keyboard. You will be able to see from the pictures that Maddy is pouting- she doesn't want to share it with Mackenzie and me, so she was not smiling in the pictures. I am going to attempt to teach them the basics ( I haven't played in 12 years) and there is a lady at the Church who only charges $5 a lesson which is much less than anyone else.

Crawling upstairs

Last night I noticed Micah was unusually quiet and went to see what he was up to. I found him trying to crawl up the stairs, he had made it to the fourth step. Today he crawled all the way up- that's 16 steps!

This is his reaction to the baby gate blocking the stairs, and mommy telling him NO MORE STAIRS!

Hair cuts

You can't really tell from these pictures, but I took the girls to get hair cuts before school starts. We went again to the beauty school and for 6 dollars both girls got their hair done. It only took 2 hours! They are very slow, but I have decided it worth it. Mackenzie had a girl that really knew what she was doing and she did the best that anyone has ever done, so we will ask for her again. Maddy had a girl that only spoke Spanish who was really slow, and since Maddy was wiggling a lot it took much longer. The girl kept calling her "little Chiquita". Maddy had also recently experimented with cutting her own bangs, so she is missing a portion of her bangs!

First Pair of Shoes

Micah poses with his first pair of shoes on. He looks like a little man.
Nothing like a good book, all the kids love books, which means they take after mommy in that area.

Hanging Out

I finally put Micah on his horse, he is semi- afraid of it, and was a little nervous sitting on it. He would have probably staid on it a little longer, but Mackenzie knocked him off of it. Getting acquainted with his horse. This used to be Mackenzie's when she was 1 1/2. She still rides it, but we have given it to Micah.
Tonight we had movie night, the girls each were able to pick out a movie to watch with Daddy. And they requested popcorn to go with it. Micah did not want to be left out so he ate some fruit puffs.

Micah

Micah has had an ear infection and has not been his happy self, but I finally got him to smile for one picture. Finally standing up-- okay so I had to make him stand there, but he can do it, he's just not very motivated to be up and about. He has 3 ladies waiting on him all the time so he feels no need to walk!

Dressing up

The girls went to a birthday party on Friday at Claire's. They each got to have their make-up and nails done, and then they were able to purchase 5$ worth of stuff and got some free goodies too. They enjoyed it, but I would not recommend doing the nails again. They used real nail glue and it was horrible to get off, Mackenzie has one nail that she is going to lose because of being shut in a door, and the glue is pulling it out of the nail bed! It's going to be painful! Here Mackenzie is getting her "smokey eye"- that's what she likes to call eye shadow.

The nails- they were very pretty, but extremely long- they couldn't do any thing with them on.
The birthday party group- they wanted them to pose like Diva's-- I am pretty sure my girls had no idea what they were talking about.
Maddy's nails--she was happy to have nails like Nana's-- but they didn't last long.

Birthday Cake

Here's a picture of Ron's birthday cake my friend Larissa made. It was really neat, you could spin the wheel to see what Ron was older than.... dirt, the wheel, time, dinosaurs, the hills or you. It was delicious too!
We didn't have 31 candles, so I tried to write out the number with the candles instead.

Emergency room

First we need to wish Ronnie a Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am throwing a surprise dinner for him with 14 people but thought I would share our wonderful morning with you. I
jumped in the shower this morning while the kids were watching Peter Pan, and heard a blood curdling scream, so I grabbed a towel and ran to see what happened and the girls met me at my door with blood dripping everywhere, and they were both crying. Apparently Mackenzie wanted an apple and decided to use my new Pampered Chef apple slicer to cut her apple. She sliced part of her ring finger in the process. Since I couldn't get the bleeding to stop I threw everyone in to the car, they were still in Jammie's, and off we went to the ER. They were very fast and after lecturing Mackenzie about knives they glued her finger back together. Then one of the nurses went and got her an apple! She is supposed to keep it dry for 24 hours which is going to be hard to do so hopefully it heals together.
