Funny Things the kids have said......

Madeline is learning Ephesians 6:1-4 for school and she was reciting them for us. Here's how she thought it went......Honour thy Father and Mother which is the worst commandment with promise!

And Mackenzie has a "boyfriend" in school. Now we don't condone this or talk about it, but it is so funny because she is such a tomboy. Now she throws a fit about what she is wearing because she doesn't want the boys to laugh at her, I have also caught her putting on my makeup before school. I guess she will be a prissy tomboy!

Mackenzie plays soccer

Mackenzie and her best friend Trista are on the same team, and for the most part run around holding hands and seeing who can be the fastest runner. Kenzie enjoyed the first game, but was disappointed that she didn't make a goal. She is extremely competitive for such a little thing. But for now I think the water breaks were her favorite part!

Maddy plays soccer

Maddy really enjoyed her first game, much more than we thought she would. She was nervous about all the people watching, but quickly got into the game. She and her friend Shanae are the only girls on the 1st and 2nd grade team.

The Game

After the game the game the girls were very hot, and sweaty!
Yum- snack time after the game!

Maddy's team tied and Mackenzie's team won- though Mackenzie doesn't think they won because she didn't make a goal- she doesn't quite get the "team" sport idea.

Soccer Uniforms

Today was the first soccer game. Madeline is #5 on the Hurricanes, and Mackenzie is #5 on the Tigers.

This and That

Micah has discovered that the cabinets open and make a great place to eat your snack. He also likes to take the plug to the blender and uses it as a telephone.
Friday was no uniform day, so the girls wore there school t-shirts.

Micah learns to feed himself

Micah is very interested in feeding himself, but since I hate the mess I usually don't let him. Yesterday he did a pretty good job of eating his yogurt all by himself.

The finally product -- yum, yum!

The Circus

On Monday a friend and I took our four girls, who are all the same age, and Micah to see the Circus. It was definitely no Ringling Brother's Circus! It was set at a racetrack in a dirt field and everything was behind wire fencing so the pictures did not turn out. Not that I could take many pictures as everyone was so indecently dressed. Most of them had little costumes that left little to the imagination- way to many g-stings for a circus! Anyway the kids had fun, and Micah liked the elephants alot.

Bad Hair Cut

I took Micah to get a hair cut on Saturday at the cheap place. I told the girl to trim it with scissors. She said that would take to long and she took the clippers with a #3 and buzzed his hair. I was so mad! I hate buzzed hair. Madeline said "Mom, did you pay for that hair cut!" So he is the current poster child for St. Jude's-- I know that's not funny, but I really hate his hair and hope it grows fast, since he won't keep a hat on.

Piano

The girls and I have been wanting a piano for a long time. Ronnie finally agreed it would be a good thing to get. We were able to get a brand new Yamaha keyboard. You will be able to see from the pictures that Maddy is pouting- she doesn't want to share it with Mackenzie and me, so she was not smiling in the pictures. I am going to attempt to teach them the basics ( I haven't played in 12 years) and there is a lady at the Church who only charges $5 a lesson which is much less than anyone else.

Crawling upstairs

Last night I noticed Micah was unusually quiet and went to see what he was up to. I found him trying to crawl up the stairs, he had made it to the fourth step. Today he crawled all the way up- that's 16 steps!

This is his reaction to the baby gate blocking the stairs, and mommy telling him NO MORE STAIRS!

Hair cuts

You can't really tell from these pictures, but I took the girls to get hair cuts before school starts. We went again to the beauty school and for 6 dollars both girls got their hair done. It only took 2 hours! They are very slow, but I have decided it worth it. Mackenzie had a girl that really knew what she was doing and she did the best that anyone has ever done, so we will ask for her again. Maddy had a girl that only spoke Spanish who was really slow, and since Maddy was wiggling a lot it took much longer. The girl kept calling her "little Chiquita". Maddy had also recently experimented with cutting her own bangs, so she is missing a portion of her bangs!

First Pair of Shoes

Micah poses with his first pair of shoes on. He looks like a little man.
Nothing like a good book, all the kids love books, which means they take after mommy in that area.

Hanging Out

I finally put Micah on his horse, he is semi- afraid of it, and was a little nervous sitting on it. He would have probably staid on it a little longer, but Mackenzie knocked him off of it. Getting acquainted with his horse. This used to be Mackenzie's when she was 1 1/2. She still rides it, but we have given it to Micah.
Tonight we had movie night, the girls each were able to pick out a movie to watch with Daddy. And they requested popcorn to go with it. Micah did not want to be left out so he ate some fruit puffs.
